22nd December Update
Merry Christmas everyone!
Just wanted to update you all on the current slow down situation. Having spoken to Adam regarding this matter, he is going to make some changes to the game engine to stop the slow downs. The issue was that, due to the massive number of fighters in the fatabase, the game engine had created over 1.2k relationships. This slows the game down massively. Once Adam has created a patch to address this issue (he has very wisely come up with a solution that should make the mod playable again), we will release the mod. Just gonna tidy up some loose ends while we wait. If anyone has any suggestions on which site we should use to upload the mod to, please leave a comment on this site.

17th December Update
We ar currently trying to find ways to make the game spped up a little,a s the loading times between days are awful atm. Adam thinks that the history is causing the issues, so we will have a look into it. Will post some fighters stats for the years 2004-2005 tomorrow for you all

13th December Update
Hi all
Just got through the funeral for Andy's grandad and are back on mod work.
First release should be soon, we are in the process of playtesting and so far, things are going well. We have had to make a few tweaks to stats of some fighters, particularly fighters that start at the beginning of the game, but those changes seem to be panning out better now.

6th December Update
Hi all
Just wanted to let you know that Andy's grandfather passed away on Thursday morning. We are doing minimal work on the mod at the moment, as we don't have much time.
We hope to get a release out before christmas. It will be beta 1.1 when it is released, as beta 1 has had many changes since playtesting to address balance issues.

28th November Update
Hi all
Just an update to let you all know that due to a family emergency, we will be slightly later than we had hoped with the release. It will be out as soon as possible though.
We are currently in the process of testing and everything is going as we hoped it would, for this stage in the creation. Ken Shamrock is dominating the heavyweight division as he should =).

23rd November Update
Hi all,
The tweaking of fighters is over!! Finished it just now. Well, I say its over, just need to go over some champs for different orgs to make sure we didn't miss any.
It's strange how much you miss when you are dealing with so much data. I just want to remind you all that the mod really is a very early beta, and there will be a million errors and balance issues. We are going to create a post on here that I'd like you to comment on if you find an error, so we can fix it. We would rather you post here than on Grey Dog with that as we really dont want to clutter Adam's forums with that stuff. Our thread will end up huge!
One feature of the mod that I'd like to point out today is that all fighters potential stat is set at random. We decided to make it this way as it will increase the replayability. You don't always want the same fighters at the top or it will make for a very boring game. This should really make the game much more exciting.

21st November Update
Hi all,
Really happy with the level of interest our mod announcement has gained, glad people are looking forward to the release as much as we are.
Wanted to remind you all that the pictures in the mod are not real fighter photo's. The scale of work involved in a mod this size was simply too much for us to ask anyone to undertake, and we have no graphic skills oursleves. Also, a lot of the fighters are low level competition and finding a picture for them would have been nearly impossible. Instead, we are using stock default pics. There will be some fighters with no picture at all, and some fighters will have the same face as another person. We discussed this with people when we announced the mod the first time round, and have decided to keep this theme. For those fighters who don't have faces, you can either assign them faces and body pictures yourself from the cornellverse data, or download new ones. Unfortunately, we can't release every picture that we have used in our mod, as we have not been granted permission from all of the people who made them.
Work oon updating fighters is going well. Im halfway through the S's now, so we should have those done in a day or two and be able to begin simming. A release date will be coming shortly.

15th November Update
Still plodding on with tweaking the stats of well known fighters. These tweaks are only preliminary and will definately change as we go along.
Just a heads up - there are quite a few big name fighters missing. We haven't added any fighters in a while since we had enough to be working on, what with the nearly 5000 fighters that needed changing. These fighters will be inputted in due course, however, but not before the first release.
We are still on target for the two week release (gotta get it done before my birthday or I will make sure Andy dies painfully and very slowly)!

As Real As It Gets is near!
Well, we are back!
I'd like to thank everyone who has stuck with us while we work on our mod. For those who don't know, As Real as it Gets 1993 is a mixed martial arts mod for World of Mixed Martial Arts 2(WMMA2) created by Adam Ryland and Grey Dog software.
The road to this mod has been a long one, as it was originally planned for WMMA 1. Things didn't come together in time for this game, and when WMMA 2 was released, it was so different from the first game that we decided to start again.
We are hoping to have our first release, beta 0.1 out in the next two weeks. The data is far from finished but will give people an idea of what to expect. Keep your eyes out for future updates (which we will try to get out daily for the next few weeks.)
